Original Oil, Moonrise, Plein air painting oil by Deborah Chapin

Original Oil, Moonrise, Plein air painting oil by Deborah Chapin

Moonlight is a favorite subject of mine.   This plein air oil painting describes the light as it fades and the change from the last light of the day to the first light of night and the shimmering moon casts it magic.  In the fall the moon overlays the sunset creating soft light landscapes and seascapes which enchant the mind and spirit.  This piece was a set of paintings which led up to this piece.  This plein air oil painting was painted on location as the sunset and the moon rose.  It was exhibited in the 2007 Arts for the Parks exhibition and toured through the museum circuit. Signed by the artist.  Contact Us About This Piece please include the title in your subject line.

Did You Know? That with just inflation a painting:
  • in 1982 that was sold at $600, in 2020 is worth $2375?
  • in 1984 that was sold at $2500, in 2020 is worth $8625?
  • in 1987 that was sold at $7000, in 2020 is work $21783
This doesn't account for anything but the value of the $ and nothing added for a lifetime of professional experience and worldwide exhibition history.
