Landscape Artwork, Moonscape by Deborah Chapin,  was painted in the wetlands during a 10 year subject of painting Blackwater Wildlife center.  Many of the pieces were sold at SEWE (Southeastern Wildlife Exhibition) in Charleston  SC. ​Snow Geese migration through the last light of the day with moonrise in late fall.  A sensitive tonalist piece. The snow geese moving to a safe spot for the night. I marvel at how birds survive winters. Sometimes the weather is so brutally cold and I would be out there painting and thinking how much colder must it be to fly through this air and expose all your warm pockets of air under your wings.

About the Chesapeake Series:  About the Artist: I painted 10 years in the blackwater wildlife refuge. This wetland suffered shortly after I stopped because of the increasing salinity of the Bay.

Tip: for AR: Stand about 8′ from the wall for accurate sizing of piece and/or mask the size on the wall with painter’s tape and fit the image within the tape
