Maine Art, Pemaquid Point, collector’s art, “Morning Light”, 12×17 oil on linen canvas by Deborah Chapin.
“Morning Light”, is the first piece I’ve done off Pemaquid point for the Maine Art Portfolio. I’m in the process of working on an idea of capturing the catspaws off the coast, A contemporary painting idea and I’m just beginning to get me sea legs. As part of Of a series of works I’ll be doing off the coast of Maine. Maine Art Series will be part of the Video Exploration Log Painting Maine’s Coast (VELP-ME) on Patreon launching this summer.
About the Process:
I like to start the work for the year in the garden when the flowers come out because it is a calm setting allowing me to get the plein air painting going for the year. I am starting the coastal work and will work on that through the spring and summer and probably into late fall maybe winter as the opportunities arise. My portrait work through the winter. It promises to be the full realization and coming together of a lifetime of work and I am very excited about the progress.
